Please note that there is to this day confusion over the exact date of the first hamfest. It appears as though the first event was in 1934. In the next couple of years, such as 1938, the flyers show it as the "Third Annual" event. It appears as though the first "annual" event was called 1935. As best as can be determined from historical information 1934 has become known as the first hamfest. We may never truely know the exact year of the "first" or "first annual" hamfest. |
